The present article has reviewed the relationship between societal capital and computer crimes based on a sociological viewpoint. The research has been of applied type, and has been conducted through using descriptive- survey method. The under survey group has been computer criminals, who have been selected through simple random sampling. Data has been gathered by using a questionnaire developed by the researcher. The results of the research indicates that there is significant relationship between three constituents of societal capital (societal contribution, societal trust, and societal security) and computer crimes, while there is no relationship between social interactions constituents and computer crimes. There is also no significant relationship between societal capital and two aspects of computer crimes: characteristic of computer crimes and motivation for committing computer crimes. All together, the results indicate that there is significant relationship between societal capital and computer crimes.
